Southern Israel includes the The Negev which extends from Beer Sheva all the way down to the Red Sea Resort of Eilat. Steeped in the history of the Nabatean “Spice Road” and other ancient civilizations, the Negev has become a popular tourist site for visitors to Israel.
Many Bedouin encampments can be found in the Negev.
Although the Negev is desert, Israel has been very successful with agriculture in the area with over 40% of the country’s crops and vegetables being grown in the Negev.
